Sarvam AI has launched Saaras V3, a speech recognition model that reportedly outperforms major global systems like Google’s Gemini 3 Pro and OpenAI’s GPT-4o on Indian language benchmarks. The model achieved a lower word error rate on the IndicVoices and Svarah benchmarks, supporting all 22 scheduled Indian languages and English. Saaras V3 features real-time streaming recognition and advanced functionalities such as automatic language detection and speaker diarisation.
